A massive explosion rocked a residential building in northern China, killing 1 and injuring 16.

The shocking CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Meihekou in Jilin Province on October 24.

As the loud blast echoed through the morning, debris from the explosion was scattered everywhere. Panicking residents emerged from the building, with some screaming for help.

Emergency services, including the fire department and crisis management teams, swiftly arrived at the scene to manage the aftermath.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the blast might have been caused by improper use of domestic gas.

10月24日早晨，吉林省梅河口市和平街道民康街某小区一栋居民楼突发爆炸。监控视频显示，爆炸正直清晨，很多居民还在睡梦中，随着爆炸声响起，房屋碎屑被炸了一地，有人跑出来不停地大喊“救命”。
目击视频拍摄的视频显示，以三楼的一户为中心，多间房屋的墙体被炸掉。该栋楼还波及对面相邻一栋居民楼，楼层的玻璃几部全部被震碎。随后，消防部门和应急管理部门正在现场处置。
10月24日上午，“梅河口市宣传部门对此事作出了通报：10月24日早6点50分，梅河口市和平街道翠园小区971号楼4单元302室发生爆炸。经初步调查，疑似因居民使用燃气不当造成爆炸。目前，已有1人死亡、1人重伤(暂无生命危险)、15人擦伤，附近相关群众已经进行妥善安置，现场搜救处置等工作正在紧张进行。
