Slackliner balances on springy rope overlooking Brazil's Sugarloaf Mountain
A slackliner balanced across springy rope overlooking a beautiful view of Brazil's Sugarloaf Mountain.
Footage shows Caio Henrique carefully walking along the cord that was attached on the edge of two cliffs in Rio de Janeiro on October 22.
Caio, who only had a rope tied on his waist and legs for protection, stopped in the middle and waved at his friend to rest for a little before continuing to cross.
Caio said: ‘It was great slacklining at Rio de Janeiro's Sugar Loaf.'
Slacklining is a sport in which a person balances on a length of webbing that is suspended between two points. The webbing can be made of nylon or polyester, which is typically 2 to 5 centimetres wide. Slacklines can be set up in various locations, including parks, forests, and even on rooftops.
Sugarloaf Mountain is named after its resemblance to a sugar loaf, a conical mould made of clay used to transport sugar in the 16th century. It is one of the most iconic landmarks in the city of Rio de Janeiro, where it is located.
