Footage shows the grey moggy fixated on a German Shepherd pooch that was being patted on the head by its owner in their home in Hunan province, China, on September 23.
About ten seconds later, the feline's eyeballs seemed to have illuminated, which their amused caretaker said was due to the camera light's reflection.
Cats have a layer of tissue in their eyes that reflects light through the retina, increasing the animal's ability to see in low light. This is why cat eyes appear to glow in the dark.
