Chinese street ignited after excavator accidentally ruptures gas pipeline
A street was ignited after an excavator accidentally ruptured a gas pipeline in southern China.
The dramatic video was filmed in Yueyang City in Hunan Province on October 24.
An excavator accidentally ruptured a gas pipeline, instantly transforming the street into a roaring inferno. The fierce flames rapidly spread to the very machine that caused the accident.
The local government issued a swift response, confirming that the fire had been extinguished and reassuring the public that no injuries were reported.
Yueyang China Resources Gas Company, which oversees the gas distribution in the area, explained that the unfortunate rupture had led to a temporary gas outage in the area.
The company said that the emergency repairs are underway and they are working tirelessly to restore gas services. The exact timeline for full restoration is currently under assessment.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
