Chinese firefighters free trapped elderly man after car driver confuses gas pedal for brake
Firefighters freed a trapped elderly man after a car driver mistook the accelerator for the brake in eastern China.
The CCTV footage was filmed in Ningbo City in Zhejiang Province on October 22.
A car suddenly reversed to knock over an elderly man and trapped him underneath.
Nearby people ran to rescue immediately. Fire rescue personnel arrived swiftly and deployed their firefighting lifting airbags. With great precision and teamwork, they managed to lift the car and, after tense moments of emergency care, successfully rescued the elderly man.
He was then swiftly transported to the hospital by an ambulance. Fortunately, due to the timely response, the elderly man sustained multiple abrasions on his body and head but was not in critical condition. He is currently receiving medical treatment.
Further investigation revealed that the car driver had mistaken the accelerator for the brake while reversing.
The car driver was blamed for the incident.
