A 9-year-old girl managed to fend off a pack of stray dogs in order to protect her much smaller pooch.

Varvara quickly picked up her leashed dog but one of the strays bit her clothing and dragged her to the ground.

However, the determined young girl quickly regained her footing while still clutching her dog's leash. The two stray dogs retreated, and concerned neighbours rushed to ensure her well-being.
