A theatrical Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) performance was held in Los Angeles on October 25.

The show told the story of the holiday's indigenous roots and how it has transformed into its modern-day celebration.

For over 35 years, the merchants on Olvera Street have celebrated Dia de los Muertos. The celebration has evolved to incorporate the pre-Columbian, Aztec, Mayan, and Catholic rituals surrounding death.

Dia de los Muertos at Olvera Street is the only celebration of its kind in Los Angeles – A nine (9) day festival, with a nightly procession, community altars on display, and entertainment.
