These pupils suffered a snappy ending when their tug-of-war rope broke in half.

The two teams of schoolchildren were battling for the long cable when it snapped in half at a sports day event in Phitsanulok province, Thailand on October 8.

Footage shows the youngsters being sent falling to the ground when they pulled too hard and the cord tore during the contest.

Two students dragged the other half of the rope while their teammates were sent to their opponent's side.
