STORYLINE:

Supplyside West 2023, one of the top conventions in the international healthcare ingredients industry, kicked off in Las Vegas, U.S. state of Nevada, on Wednesday.

More than 1,400 exhibiting companies from all over the world are attending the annual show, which brings together nutrition professionals, buyers, and suppliers from throughout the industry.

Some 18,000 buyers focusing on natural and man-made ingredients and solutions for food, supplements, vitamins, skin care lotions and more, are expected to show up at the show.
   
China, the world's largest producer, supplier and exporter of raw materials for health products, plays a key role in the exhibition with over 400 companies supplying their products, including plant extracts, fish oil, functional sugars, amino acids, vitamins, enzyme preparations, organic foods and raw materials.
   
The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines and Health Products (CCCMHPIE) holds the fourth edition of China Pharmaceutical Ingredients Brand Pavilion during the two-day show.
   
This year's pavilion selects nearly 100 elite enterprises from 22 provinces of China, with a net exhibition area of about 1,200 square meters, expanding 22 percent over the last version in 2019.
   
"The huge and active consumer market space and active policies help promote the continuous development of the industry," Zhou Hui, president of CCCMHPIE, told Xinhua in an exclusive interview Monday.
   
"The export of raw materials for natural health products in my country, represented by plant extracts, continues to improve, with an average annual export growth rate of more than 15 percent from 2019 to 2022," he said.
