A 2-year-old boy ignited a mountain of corn husks with a lighter in northern China.

The CCTV footage was filmed in Fuping County in Shaanxi Province on October 16.

A boy was seen setting fire to a large pile of corn husks outside his home with a lighter.

The flames quickly grew larger and more uncontrollable, but, fortunately, the boy's grandmother spotted the blaze just in time. She raced to scatter the burning husks and doused the flames with water.

Acting swiftly, the child's uncle moved a nearby car to safety while the father grabbed a hose, and together they managed to fully extinguish the fire.

The shaken grandmother later took the opportunity to educate the young boy about the perils of playing with fire. The remorseful toddler promised never to play with lighters again.
