PILE OF CHAIRS HANGING ON A BUILDING?

If you walk along the rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré in Paris and look up to the sky, you will undoubtedly see a stack of chairs hanging from the facade of a building, located just opposite the Bristol Hotel. But then what is it exactly and until when will this installation be visible?

In Paris, many people have the unfortunate tendency to walk with their heads down, eyes glued to their phones. However, this habit often makes us miss beautiful things, sometimes surprising and unexpected. This is the case in the very chic 8th arrondissement of the capital, and more precisely at No. 77 rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré. Looking up to the sky, we can observe for several days a stack of chairs suspended from the third floor of a building.

Looking closer, we notice that this installation is attached to the facade of the famous Liaigre design and interior design house. The gallery that Liaigre houses on the Right Bank invited Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata to explore the relationship between art, architecture, design and daily life. And the artist, born in Hokkaido in 1953, had the idea of creating, specifically for the place, this original installation made from wooden chairs.
