A crocodile was rescued after it strayed into a house in northern India's Uttar Pradesh.

This incident happened in the Madnapur village, located in Sitapur district of the state on October 26.

Visuals showed the crocodile inside the house with its jaws wide open. It didn't move though but its sheer presence was enough to strike fear in the hearts of the people who were present at the spot. A large crowd had gathered near the house. Officials involved in this rescue operation were seen making efforts to capture the crocodile. The reptile was tied up with sticks and ropes so that it didn't harm anyone. Men involved in this operation pinned the creature with bamboo sticks as it was being tied. It was then put in the back of a mini-truck and taken to the place where it would be released. The crocodile was then set free by the officials.

Speaking to Newslions, Range Forest officer Kamal Ahmad Siddiqi said, "The reptile had appeared in a house located 200 meters away from the Kiwani river. The rescue operation was led by Forester Narendra Pal, and it took a total of four hours to complete this mission. The crocodile was then released into the Ghagra Ghat river."
