I have trained our Alaskan Malamutes as sled dogs and therapy dogs. They help me out in my child care business. They are a teaching aid helping young children many valuable lessons and act to alleviate anxiety . We have specific rules of engagement. Dotty & Fish must keep silent and sit or lie next to me during lunch. They are not allowed to beg for scraps. The children cannot stroke or engage with Dotty & Fish while seated at the table. They definitely cannot give them food scraps. Life lessons in real time are the best lessons learnt for life.
