STORYLINE:
Kenya-based Alpha Group is a conglomerate of companies in the areas of seafood export, engineering and logistics.
The group will attend the sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE) that is to be held in Shanghai this November.
Anand Ganapathy, director of a seafood company in the Group said the export of seafood from Kenyan to China is expected to grow in the near future as the Chinese market has a big potential.

"China has a very big market for seafood, particularly, the population is aware of seafood and the benefits of seafood from East Africa. So we are planning to target the good market, the diverse market in China. Very big attraction and there's a big potential there and we hope to tap the market."

"We are planning to expand our operation to get more volume. So in the years to come, we will have many products in the Chinese market and to Chinese customers."
According to Ganapathy, Alpha Group will exhibit various kinds of seafood at CIIE, and in the next two months, the group intends to export five to ten containers of seafood to China.
