Leopard on the loose! Big cat roams car park of building in southern India
A leopard was spotted wandering a car park in a building in southern India's Karnataka, as it roamed about a residential area on 28 October.
The big cat was spotted on CCTV headed to the lift in Cadenza apartment in Kudlu gate, Bengaluru city.
Fortunately the leopard did not enter the lift.
The big cat apparently entered the building through a space next to a flight of stairs.
Officials warned locals to stay on alert, amid panic by those still inside the building.
The forest department deployed teams to capture the leopard, but unfortunately never found the animal.
Deputy Conservator of forests, N Ravindra Kumar, said that two trap cages had been placed for the animal and advised residents to avoid late night or early morning walks in the area.
Kumar added that with Bannerghatta National Park not very far away, the leopard could re-enter the area.
