Mexico City reopened the first modernized section of Metro Line 1 on Sunday.
The 18.83-km metro line is the oldest in the city.
It has received a modern upgrade with the assistance of China's top train maker CRRC Corporation Ltd.
The head of the Mexico City government said the renovation of the Metro Line 1 section is part of a broader general plan to modernize the existing means of transport in the city.

"In matters of mobility, the city had to expand, modernize, diversify its forms of mobility because it grew to the mountains and to all the cardinal points. Now in Mexico City, in addition to the Metro Collective Transportation System and the trolleybus that has its own and old history and the light train, now we also have the RTP trucks that arrive to very distant places."
