This is the heartwarming moment kind drivers rescued an injured cat from the road and helped it to recover.

A couple noticed the cat lying on the road and took it to the vet for treatment in Hebei, China, on September 30.

Footage shows the man getting out of the car to retrieve the cat. He picked up the seemingly lifeless body of the feline and walked towards the roadside to lay the cat down.

Moments later, his wife called for him to get back in the car so they could go to the veterinary clinic.

On the way, the cat kept making sounds due to the injury, while the man tried to comfort it.

According to the doctor, the cat's right hind leg was broken. The couple decided to arrange surgery for the cat the next day and then adopted it as their own pet.
