SOUNDBITE (English): GILLES CARBONNIER, Vice president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
"We have already, over the years, developed many areas of cooperation on humanitarian issues, and especially around international humanitarian law. And the bedrock of international humanitarian law is the Geneva Conventions.
Next year, we will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions. And China was among the very first signatories to the Geneva Conventions. And I think that in this framework, we very much look forward to deepening our cooperation with China. We have established many areas of cooperation in terms of sharing expertise in terms of having common dialogues on different humanitarian issues."
