An extraordinary twelve cobras were found in a hardware shop in Gaya, in northern India's Bihar state on Wednesday 1 November.

When the shopkeeper saw the first one of the snakes he was scared and called the local snake catcher, Subhash Singh.

The snake expert soon arrived at Ashish Hardware and got to work.

Wearing some gloves, Mr Singh started taking out the snakes from the hardware shop and putting each of them in bags, though the twisting reptiles did not make the latter job easy.

After packing all the snakes in two separate sacks, they were taken away and later released into the forest.

A crowd of people gathered to see the snake rescues. The spectators were both scared and impressed at the calm skills of the snake catcher.
