Rat snake trapped in iron mesh rescued and treated for its wounds in India
A rat snake was found trapped in an iron mesh by a homeowner in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Sovan Roy called Snake Helpline on October 31 and Subhendu Mallik, General Secretary of Snake Helpline, went to the spot along with a colleague, Arun Baral.
While Baral restrained the 5-feet-long snake, Mallik cut the iron wires with a metal cutter. The snake had suffered minor cuts and was sprinkled with Iodine. It was later released in a natural habitat.
Mallik said: "The rat snake was badly stuck and ants had begun to devour it. It was lucky we could save it on time.”
