The 26th edition of the Algiers International Book Fair (SILA) has attracted thousands of visitors who flocked to the Exhibition Center in the capital Algiers.
Running from Oct. 25 to Nov. 4, SILA shines a spotlight on the richness of the African continent's literature under the theme of "Africa is writing its future."
This year's edition hosts some 1,200 publishing houses, with more than 900 international participants from 61 countries.
It has become a vibrant hub of literary excitement, attracting book enthusiasts and readers from various walks of life who are captivated by the diverse literary offerings and cultural activities.
Beyond its commercial aspect, SILA stands out as a center for cultural and literary activities, hosting 40 sideline events such as seminars and discussions covering a wide range of topics including literature, history, and issues relevant to children and youth.
