This is the heartwarming moment an injured stray kitten was revived with CPR by a kind woman in Thailand.

Footage shows cat lover Naphapai Yuangngern pumping the hapless tabby's chest using her fingers at her house in Phetchabun province on October 14.

The kitten remained limp in her hands, but Naphapai was unwilling to give up and kept administering the emergency procedure until it became responsive and started to mewl.

Naphapai said her pet feline Johny, a white and orange cat, had played a part in saving the stray.

She said: 'I was surprised when Johny dragged something back home and it turned out to be the unconscious kitten. It was alive but it wouldn't wake up so I gave it CPR.'

The resident said she has decided to adopt the kitten, which she named 'Boon Chuay' meaning 'saved by luck' in Thai.

Thailand, a largely Buddhist nation, believes that kindness towards animals should be encouraged, with temples sometimes being a safe refuge for stray cats, dogs, and even monkeys that don't have homes.
