Schools closed as Delhi chokes under blanket of severe air pollution
The air quality in Delhi plummeted to severe levels for the first time this season on Thursday 2 November, prompting school closures on Friday and Saturday.
The region was blanketed in a thick veil of air pollution after the air quality breached 400 out of 500, considered a danger point, in India's Air Quality Index (AQI).
Government agencies forecast the situation will get worse in the next 15-20 days due to a surge in farm fires along with an expected drop in temperature and air speed.
The video was fiimed in Noida on the outskirts of Delhi at around 15:20 local time.
