Storm Ciaran: Drone shows extent of flooding in Alfriston, East Sussex, after Cuckmere river bursts its banks
Drone footage captured the extent of flooding in the village of Alfriston in England's East Sussex, after Storm Ciaran.
Video shot on 3 November showed flooded streets and fields after the local Cuckmere river burst its banks earlier this week due to persistently high rainfall earlier this week, only for the situation to get worse when areas upstream also flooded.
Livestock had to be moved to higher ground and vehicles have had to be rescued from getting stuck in flood waters.
Those not willing to risk the flooded roads are having to take 15-mile (24km) detours to reach the village.
The UK's Environment Agency is trying to pump water out of the village.
