A Fraser Dolphin was stranded on the Pasir Jambak Padang tourist beach.
A dolphin type mammal stranded on Pasir Jambak Beach, Pasie Nan Tigo Village, Koto Tangah District, Padang City, West Sumatra Province, On Saturday Morning, The process of evacuating the dolphin while it was alive lasted for 4 hours, Finally the process of evacuating the community together with BPSPL it was successfully carried out until one o'clock in the afternoon.
The Fraser Dolphin type of dolphin with the Latin name Lagenodelphis hosei was seen near the shoreline area. The community reported it at eight o'clock on Saturday morning. Residents who accidentally saw this incident reported it to the Turtle Conservation basecamp which is near the location.
The community, together with DJPKRL officers, have tried to rescue these mammals by returning them to the sea manually and using boats, but the dolphins still return to the shore.
Pati Hariyose, a local resident who is also an environmental activist, said that the first people who discovered it were people exercising
He was found at around 08.00 WIB, then we went straight to the location and found this dolphin stranded on the beach. Then he and local residents tried to lift and return this dolphin to the sea.
Hendrisman, as head of the Biodiversity Protection and Conservation Team, BPSPL Padang said, there is only one dolphin which is estimated to be 2.3 meters long. and was successfully evacuated at 12 noon, then monitoring was carried out by boat.
This dolphin mammal had no serious injuries, only scratches from being stranded on the shore, and when it was released from the sea it was in stable condition and could swim out to sea.
