This is the dramatic moment a storm uprooted a tree sending it plunging onto a row of parked cars in Malaysia.

Dashcam footage shows strong winds toppling the tall tree outside the Sunway Giza shopping mall in Kota Damansara, Selangor, on November 1.

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department said officers received a report at 3:25 pm and sent firefighters to the scene to provide assistance.

In a statement, Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar, assistant director of operations at the Selangor Fire Department, said the tree had hit five cars.

He said: 'All of the vehicles were parked at the time of the incident and did not involve any victims.'

He added that another tree had fallen in the state's Petaling District, and authorities were clearing both obstructions.
