Dramatic CCTV captures out-of-control Delhi bus wrecking 10 vehicles, killing pedestrian
CCTV captured the horrifying moment an out-of-control DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) bus rammed into around 10 vehicles, wrecking them all and killing a pedestrian.
One person was also hurt in the incident in Rohini suburb of the Indian capital on Saturday 4 November.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Guriqbal Sidhu said it took place near Mother Divine School and that police rushed to the spot after receiving an emergency call.
The injured had been taken to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, where a 30-year-old man was declared dead on arrival.
Video shows the bus slamming into several vehicles, without slowing down, before it takes out and entire row of parked two-wheelers before finally coming to a halt.
The accused driver, Sandeep, a Rohtak resident, was detained.
“As per the initial inquiry, the DTC bus driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a car and some two-wheelers. He has been detained and necessary legal action is being initiated,” said the Deputy Commissioner of Police.
A senior officer said that the deceased is yet to be identified. “But the person was on foot when the bus approached from the opposite side… The injured man, Ram Sharma, was on his two-wheeler when the bus crashed into him. He is a resident of Sector 3 in Rohini and is undergoing treatment,” the officer added.
