Huge wild python caught in roof rafters of house in Thailand
A huge wild python was caught hiding in the roof rafters of a house in Thailand.
Footage shows locals searching for the serpent while it was cramped in the space above the ceiling. An animal rescuer then found it coiled in the corner of the building in Samut Prakan on August 26.
The 8ft-long reptile resisted the men who dragged it out of the hole using a catching pole. It was unhurt and released back into the wild.
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
