Wild Elephants have proved disastrous for thousands of Indian villagers

The anti-elephant blockade might be unique, but the conflict it illustrates is being waged daily across Eastern India as humans continue to destroy forests and grasslands where elephants thrived for centuries, driving wild elephants to raid crops and demolish dwellings. Some fields lie fallow because farmers have stopped planting or have switched to crops such as turmeric and bay leaves.

Around 10 to 15 Villagers every night drive the Wild elephant into the forest by beating Drums & making different sounds wearing a searchlight on their Head.
