Wild monkeys raided a passing pick-up truck to steal food that the driver had just bought from the market.

The gang of macaque thieves swiftly hopped onto the back of the vehicle when it slowed down past a busy street and rummaged through the boxes to find groceries in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, Thailand on September 29.

Footage shows the primates helping themselves to package bread and vegetables such as string beans while the family watched on the side of the glass.

One of the stray animals seized an entire loaf of bread and took off with it back to its troop while the truck drove away.

Monkeys in Thailand have become accustomed to tourists feeding them, and they will often become aggressive. They have also been known to steal food and belongings from tourists.
