The Constitutional Council of Chile delivered this Tuesday the new draft Constitution to President Gabriel Boric, who signed a decree and called with a decree a new plebiscite for this December 17, in which Chileans must vote for or against this text. Voting in Chile is mandatory.

The President affirmed that "in the event that the proposal you are submitting to us today for a new Constitution is approved, you can be sure that, as a government, we will fully comply with its correct implementation and installation and we will take charge, as appropriate, together with the other organs of the State, of the process of legal reforms and regulatory adaptations that will be required".

Boric also stressed that if this proposal "is rejected, our Government will dedicate itself without pause and with great energy to continue working and governing for the welfare of the people, responding with a sense of urgency to the social demands that the citizenship demands of us".
