Desperate foreigners and dual-citizens scanned lists of those allowed to leave Gaza, as they waited at the Rafah Crossing on Wednesday 8 November.

Many foreign citizens have struggled to leave the enclave since the war began with Hamas' attacks on 7 October.

The crossing was closed on Saturday and Sunday after Gazan authorities accused Israel of a strike on an ambulance transporting the injured to the border. As well as foreigners, some severely injured locals have also been allowed to leave.

The crossing was open again on Monday and Tuesday but closed at one point on Wednesday for unspecified security reasons.
