The Blue Lagoon in Iceland Abandoned for the first time due to imminent volcanic eruption
The Blue Lagoon, Iceland's tourist hotspot number one closed after a M5.0 earthquake struck a few hundred meters away, leaving many tourists in fear so they checked that same night to other hotels since a volcanic eruption is expected to take place there soon, if the constant uplift with an epicentre near the hotel brakes trough the crust. The magma is now and 5km. depth, accumulating into a magma sill that stretches just about the lagoon it self. This was a highly unusual chance to see the lagoon abandoned.
