LA County Fire Department battled a blaze in Topanga that reportedly began with a fire at the rear of a house on Swenson Drive before spreading to brush nearby.

The fire, that began running up the hill to the west of the building, was dubbed the Don Fire.

At the time the video was filmed the fire was across approximately five acres but fire-fighting helicopters were reported to be making good progress battling it.

The fire is 2 acres in heavy brush running up hill to the west w/ structures threatened, 2nd alarm requested per arriving engine. This is now known as the Don Fire
The fire remains approximately 2 acres w/ moderate rate of spread, winds are 10-15mph & copters are making good progress per Incident Command.
The fire has been updated to 5 acres per radio traffic. 5 copters now over the fire & 1 additional strike team of engines (5 engines) being assigned to the incident.
