A car went through a fence and ended up hanging precariously off the edge of a parking garage in Riverside, California on Wednesday 8 November.

The incident took place at around 5:45pm at Mission Inn Hotel and Spa at 3641 on 6th Street.

Riverside Police Department and Riverside Fire Department quickly arrived on the scene and requested a technical rescue team to assist with extrication of the vehicle's occupants.

The firefighters were able to quickly get the two occupants out of the vehicle.

Both occupants were transported to a local area hospital suffering from unknown but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle accidentally hit the gas and had the vehicle in drive instead of reverse, causing it to go through the chain barrier and fall over the edge, where it hit a cement wall, keeping it from falling further.

It isn’t known whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
