Tourism in Myanmar up by 52%
Tourists from Thailand visiting Tachileik in Myanmar and viewing the statue of King Bayinnaung, a 16th century burmese monarch. The statue was off-limits until recently,following a bomb attack in 2003.
The Thailand border is a few hundred metres away. Myanmar received 4.68 million tourists in 2015,an increase of 52% over 2014,according to their Hotels and Tourism Ministry.
