Reckless Driver Strikes Police Cruiser at Red Light in Wells, ME, USA
This footage was filmed and produced 7 November 2023.
In Wells, a driver's reckless actions led to a multi-vehicle collision at the Exit 19 intersection on Rt. 109. The incident occurred on November 7, 2023, at around 7:21 p.m.
According to a Wells Police Officer, a vehicle exiting the I-95 off-ramp ran a red light, resulting in a collision. The officer's vehicle struck the passenger side of a 2006 Volvo, which was then pushed into a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Pick-up Truck. A 2019 Toyota Rav 4 was also impacted as it was stopped behind the truck. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the other vehicle operators involved.
The operator of the Volvo, identified as Victoria Mann, 68, from Lawrence, MA, complained of minor hip pain but declined medical treatment. The officer, Dylan McNally, experienced wrist pain and received treatment at York Hospital before being released.
The police cruiser, a 2021 Ford Explorer, sustained significant front-end damage. Maine State Police were called to conduct an accident investigation, as is standard procedure when a police cruiser is involved in a collision. The incident was captured on the officer's Body Camera and Cruiser WatchGuard Dash Camera.
At the scene, Victoria Mann was arrested and charged with Operating Under The Influence of Alcohol or Drugs. She was later released after posting $360.00 cash bail and is scheduled for arraignment on December 27, 2023, at the York County Judicial Center.
