In a stark depiction of the devastating impact of El Nino on Somalia, a video posted by @caresom on Wednesday 8 November revealed widespread havoc wreaked by floods in the region.

The video was filmed by someone at the school seen flooded in the video.

The UN has called the extreme weather a once-in-a-century event and warned over 1.6 million people in Somalia could be affected.

Local authorities say around 300,000 people have been displaced.

The footage, taken in Galckayo, Somalia, highlights the profound disruption to education across affected areas.

Schools lie submerged, and essential learning materials have been destroyed, leaving countless students without access to education.
