1. SOUNDBITE 1 (Arabic): SAYYED HASSAN NASRALLAH, Hezbollah Secretary General
2. SOUNDBITE 2 (Arabic): SAYYED HASSAN NASRALLAH, Hezbollah Secretary General
STORYLINE:
Lebanon's Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered a speech Saturday on the occasion of Hezbollah's Martyr Day commemoration.
He said that his party does not tolerate any aggression by Israel against the Lebanese civilians, and that is the reason his party responded to the attack that killed a grandmother and her three grandchildren earlier last week in southern Lebanon.
SOUNDBITE 1 (Arabic): SAYYED HASSAN NASRALLAH, Hezbollah Secretary General
"We condemn the attack that was carried against the decent family that led to the martyrdom of the family. It's an act that the Islamic resistance responded to without any hesitation, and it was the first time that we fired the Katyusha missiles on the Kiryat Shmona settlement. We informed the enemy through an official statement that we will not tolerate any aggression against civilians, and we reiterate our commitment to that."
Nasrallah revealed for the first time the use of surveillance and attack drones in response to the Israeli shelling and bombing of south Lebanon.
SOUNDBITE 2 (Arabic): SAYYED HASSAN NASRALLAH, Hezbollah Secretary General
"One of the things we want to publicize is the daily use of our surveillance drones into the northern areas of occupied Palestine. Some of them reached Haifa, Acre, Safad and Tiberias, and sometimes they surpassed the north of Palestine. Some of these drones returned, carrying the required photos, and some of them did not return, and we want them not to return so that we can hit the Iron Dome and the patriot missiles. Sometimes the Iron Dome and the patriot missiles failed to hit these drones, so they sent helicopters and the F15 to shoot them down. This is a daily routine. Sometimes, we sent one or two drones and sometimes three. These are in addition to the attack drones and this action is not included in our daily official statements."
