A Corgi dog narrowly escaped being hit by the sudden fall of a wind-dislodged door in central China.

The terrifying video was filmed in Xinxiang in Henan Province on March 28.

The dog was peacefully sleeping next to a door when suddenly a gust of wind swung the door, trapping the dog's neck. Awoken in shock, the dog yelped and managed to free itself in a panic.

Incredibly, as the door opened, the force exerted by the dog knocked it off its hinges, sending it crashing in the direction the dog had scurried off to.

Miraculously, the quick-footed Corgi escaped unscathed, avoiding being hit by the heavy door.

The dog's owner, Ms Qin, explained that the door was not securely fixed and could usually be lifted off by two people. Despite its considerable weight and quality, the dog's frantic escape resulted in a perfectly timed push that dislodged the door completely.

Fortunately, the dog was not injured.
