Elderly farmer hand-makes dragon that can swim and dive
An inspiring video has emerged from China of a 62-year-old farmer named Yan Chaoming inventing and hand-making a red dragon model that can dive under water.
The footage, filmed in a village in Chongqing on Tuesday, shows the farmer using a remote control - which is also self-made - to make the dragon dive in and out of the lake. He can also be seen fixing the engine inside the model that is made of very common objects such as bamboo sticks and plastic bottles.
According to news reports, Yan came up with the idea of creating a "real dragon" that was able to "swim" after he saw the dragon lights on West Lake in Hangzhou a few years ago.
While he only went to school for less than nine years, he taught himself all essential knowledge and skills, and finally managed to complete his invention in four years after six attempts.
