In a courageous effort, Guardia Civil officers, along with firefighters, successfully rescued a dog that had fallen into a well in the vicinity of 'Ehesa Vieja' in the municipality of Azuaga. The incident unfolded last Friday morning when a game warden in the area alerted the Guardia Civil upon hearing barks emanating from inside a well covered with a green raffia tarp.

Upon arrival, Seprona agents verified the information, confirming the dog's location approximately ten meters deep. Equipped with the necessary rescue gear, they enlisted the assistance of local firefighters. Using ropes and harnesses, the firefighters descended into the well, securing the dog in a box and safely bringing it to the surface.

Initial inspections revealed no visible injuries on the dog resulting from the fall. After providing the animal with water and food, it was discovered that the dog lacked an identifying microchip. Efforts are underway to determine the owner's identity and investigate the circumstances of the dog's fall.

Currently under the care of the canine shelter 'La Tinaja' in Villafranca de los Barros, the rescued dog awaits further developments in its recovery journey.
