Car reverses onto roof of another vehicle as driver mistakes accelerator for brake
A car reversed onto the roof of another vehicle as the driver mistook the accelerator for the brake in southern China.
The video was filmed in the city of Dongguan in Guangdong Province on November 13.
A reversing Huawei Aito M5 suddenly accelerated and crashed into the car behind it, astonishingly mounting the other car's roof.
Yu Chengdong, the chairman of Huawei's Smart Car Solutions BU stated that after the customer picked up the car on November 12, a test drive was arranged for the next day.
During the test drive, the customer mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake while reversing, leading to the collision.
All individuals involved were checked at the hospital and found to be largely unharmed. The accident vehicle was towed back to the dealership, where sales personnel were negotiating a resolution plan with the customer.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
