This is the moment an exhausted forager who had reportedly been lost in the forest for two days trudged toward a shocked local's house to call for help in Thailand.

The unnamed man had set out to look for mushrooms, but had lost his way in the woods in Kanchanaburi province. He tried calling a rescue team for help, but as reception was poor in the mountains, decided to find an exit himself.

CCTV footage shows the villager, who claimed to have spent two days wandering the jungle, staggering out of the wilderness and collapsing on his knees as he called resident Kainapar for help on October 30.

The surprised homeowner called medics and gave the man food and drinks while waiting for them to arrive.

Kainapar said: 'At first, I was scared because he was holding a knife while approaching me. But then he called out and said he had gotten lost in the woods.

'He said he followed the sound of dogs and managed to find my house. He put down his knife, and I gave him something to eat and drink since he was so tired.'

The forager was given treatment and has been reunited with his family.
