This is the heartwarming moment a villager who was missing in a Thai forest for 11 days was rescued.

Jiratchaya Meekaew, 35, had reportedly left her home and wandered into the wilderness on the Khao Phrain mountain in Surat Thani province, southern Thailand, on October 28.

Her worried relatives reported her disappearance to the community officials.

A search was launched for the missing woman, but heavy rains battering the area had washed away any clues that might have led the rescuers to her.

As the situation turned dire, the family enlisted the help of local officials, with Surat Thani Governor Jessada Jitrat ordering search parties to scour the woodlands on November 4.

Hundreds of villagers, volunteers, police, and soldiers combed through the forests and finally managed to find Jiratchaya lying in the undergrowth on November 7.

Council official Jessada Jitrat said: 'Rescue teams continued the search the whole time but it was difficult because of the weather conditions.

'We are relieved that we were finally able to find the missing village and she is being treated in hospital to recover.'

The woman appeared exhausted, in a daze, and unable to move on her own. She was conscious but unable to respond to the rescuers.

Medics gave her first aid, then rushed her to the Don Sak Hospital.

Jiratchaya's family said she had been taking medication and had previously been rescued after getting lost in the same mountain for 10 days in April.

They said she would typically venture into the forest for up to two days, then walk back home. But this time, she had gone missing for a long period, sparking concern.
