Pet Golden Retriever puppies were rescued as floodwater slowly filled their room.

The litter of pooches were huddled together with their mother dog during a thunderstorm when the deluge started to flow out of the drain in Chumphon province, Thailand, on October 22.

CCTV footage shows the canines trembling in the corner while their owner picked them up to carry them to a safer place.

Pet owner Sirilak said the heavy downpour overflowed from the drain and seeped through their home.

She said: ‘All of them were safe. We arrived there on time before the flood was higher.'

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season, which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon, leading to widespread flash floods.
