STORYLINE:

At a seminar on Belt and Road cooperation held in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on Tuesday, attendees spoke highly of the benefits that China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative has brought to BiH over the past decade.

"Obviously, in the past ten years, we have had some really marvelous success in the Belt and Road Initiative. Because ten years before, we didn't have a visa-free regime between two countries, we didn't have any contracts. Now, we have at least the ten of them in infrastructure, like in highways, also in railways, in trams in Sarajevo, but also energy projects both in brown and green fields. And also, we have nowadays two Confucius Institutes which are based for people-to-people and cultural exchange. So I think that the past decade was really successful, and it creates a base for further development in the next decade."

"I hope all connections between the two countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina and also China, and business cooperation between companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and China, will be improved, because it is a very important initiative, and we need support from China."
