A massive blaze engulfed an office building, killing at least 26 in northern China.

Dramatic video filmed in the city of Lyvliang in Shanxi Province on November 16 shows the first floor of an office building being consumed by flames with thick black smoke billowing from the windows.

Emergency services, including fire, medical, and police personnel, rushed to the site for immediate response and rescue operations.

Following the catastrophic fire, 64 individuals were taken to the hospital, 26 of them succumbed to their injuries despite intense rescue attempts, while 38 are still receiving medical treatment.

The cause was being investigated. The video was provided by local media with permission.

11月16日，山西吕梁离石区永聚煤业一办公楼起火，事发后，当地多部已前往现场处置。现场视频显示，一座办公楼2楼燃起熊熊大火，火势向上蔓延，并从2楼冒出大量黑烟，有消防车在现场救援。一楼张贴有横幅“学一分应急知识，多十分安全保障”。办公楼顶楼写着“联建楼”。
上午10时，离石区官方通通报称：11月16日上午6时50分左右，离石区城北街道一企业办公楼突发火灾。目前消防救援、应急管理、公安、医疗等部门已第一时间赶赴现场开展应急处置救援。
经现场了解情况，截至中午12时，已确认11人遇难，具体伤亡人员仍在统计中。着火建筑共4层，目前累计疏散63人，其中51人送往吕梁市第一人民医院救治，救援仍在进行，起火原因正在调查中。

煤矿上的联建楼，一般是为生产服务,建于副井口。 里面设立调度室安全信息站、工人安检房、灯房、浴室、监控调控室、区队交班室(班前会、班后交接会)、小型会议室、小型修理间。 一般安全生产指挥和工人入井检查、升井洗浴都是在联合楼里，是一个很重要的建筑。
