Cooks begin to prepare HUGE plum pudding cake in Indian hotel Christmas tradition

Cooks, hotel staff and special guests began preparation of an enormous Christmas plum pudding cake at a famous luxury hotel on the race course in Coimbatore, India.

The enthusiastic participants poured fruit juice and wine onto huge amounts of dried fruits and nuts, laid out decoratively to depict a jolly festive scene.

Then the whole thing was mixed together, to be turned into cake.

The recipe involved 20 types of dried fruits and nuts, including cashews, raisins, almonds, figs and walnuts.

The hotel said it weighed 150kg (330 pounds) and that 25 litres (44 pints) of wine and juice were added.

The chef said the plum pudding cake will be be matured for a year, only being sold in winter 2024, while the cake prepared last year will be the one available this Christmas, between December 21 and January 2.
