Adorable Penguin Shivers in Cold Confuses Visitors at Ocean Park in Eastern China
On November 6, 2023, at Qingdao Polar Ocean Park in Qingdao, Shandong, the penguins were spotted shivering, which left some visitors wondering if the penguins were cold because of the outbreak of cold waves in China recently.
One of the staff explains that the Southern Rockhopper Penguins, which inhabit the subarctic area, exhibit such behavior as part of their natural activity to stretch their muscles. The temperature from 2-5℃ is optimal for them.
